Several key characters meet their end in this gripping episode, including a few that didn’t die in Robert Jordan’s original book series.

Jeaine of the Black Ajah is killed by Elayne, who uses Balefire, a dangerous and rarely used One Power ability. Balefire doesn’t just kill, it erases someone from the Pattern itself, making it as if they never existed.

Another Black Ajah member, Chesmal, is taken down by Min, who saves Mat by attacking Chesmal from behind.

The dark and twisted death of Sammael, one of the Forsaken, comes at the hands of Moghedien, who uses her spider-like powers to string him up using his own body. It’s one of the most gruesome moments of the show so far.

Melindhra, revealed to be a Darkfriend and part of the Shaido Aiel, also dies after betraying the Shadow by warning Lan about Lanfear’s assassination attempt on Rand. Her betrayal seals her fate.

But the most heartbreaking death? That belongs to Siuan Sanche, the former Amyrlin Seat. After being overthrown by Elaida, Siuan is stripped of her ability to channel the One Power and executed. Her final stand is powerful, as she defends her actions and warns of the consequences of not supporting Rand, the Dragon Reborn. This is a big change from the books, where Siuan survives her Stilling.

Do Moiraine and Lanfear Survive?

Yes, both Moiraine and Lanfear survive their intense battle, but they are left wounded, physically and emotionally.

Moiraine suffers deeply from the loss of Siuan, her love. Although nearly killed by Lanfear using Lan’s sword, Moiraine draws strength from her grief and uses the Sakarnen, a powerful sa’angreal, to fight back. She injures Lanfear, who escapes through a portal before being finished off.

Their fight ends in a stalemate, but both characters will likely return in season 4 with new motivations.

How Does Rand Prove He’s the Car’a’carn?

In a dramatic moment, Rand al’Thor proves himself to the Aiel by using the One Power to bring rain to the Aiel Waste, a place that hasn’t seen rain in centuries.

Colaidin, a Shaido warrior, falsely claims he’s the Dragon Reborn and even has fake dragon tattoos thanks to Lanfear. But Rand’s rainstorm reveals the truth and earns him the loyalty of the Aiel, who call him the Car’a’carn.

Now with a growing army, Rand sets his sights on recovering Callandor, a powerful sword, and uniting the rest of the Aiel clans.

Mat Cauthon Meets the Mysterious Eelfinn

One of the biggest mysteries of the finale involves Mat Cauthon and a strange race known as the Eelfinn.

These fox-like beings live in another dimension, which Mat enters through a redstone doorframe Ter’angreal. The Eelfinn grant three wishes, but they always come at a painful cost. Mat makes his wishes without bargaining, leading to memory loss and a near-death experience, he’s literally hanged before returning to the real world.

After surviving, Mat discovers a foxhead medallion on him. This item wasn’t his before, but it will play a major role in his future.

Where Is Perrin in the Season 3 Finale?

Perrin Aybara, now called Lord Goldeneyes, doesn’t appear in the finale. That’s because his arc wrapped up in episode 7. After helping defend The Two Rivers, he surrenders to the Children of the Light for killing their leader’s father in season 2.

In one of the final scenes of the season, Faile, Bain, and Chiad are seen near the Whitecloak camp. It looks like they may try to rescue Perrin. We’ll have to wait until next season to find out what happens next.

Is There a Post-Credits Scene?

Nope. If you waited through the credits hoping for a surprise scene, you were out of luck. There’s nothing extra after the final episode.

Will There Be a Wheel of Time Season 4?

As of now, Amazon hasn’t confirmed a fourth season. Rumors suggest the streaming giant is waiting to review season 3’s viewership numbers before giving the green light.

That said, the cast is optimistic. They’ve expressed confidence that season 4 will happen. And considering the growing fan base and improving reviews, it’s likely we’ll see more of Rand, Moiraine, Mat, and the rest of the gang soon.

The Wheel of Time season 3 ended with powerful twists, bold story changes, and deep character moments. While some book fans may feel conflicted over the new direction, it’s clear the show is building momentum. Let’s hope Amazon renews it soon so we can return to the world of the One Power.

Stay tuned for updates on The Wheel of Time season 4!
