Prime Video has officially unveiled the first look and release date for its upcoming psychological thriller, ‘The Better Sister’. Starring and executive produced by Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, the highly anticipated series is set to deliver a gripping story of secrets, family bonds, and suspense. ‘The Better Sister’ will premiere on Thursday, May 29, 2025, on Prime Video. The show will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
What is the Plot of ‘The Better Sister’?
The Better Sister is a psychological thriller based on the novel by Alafair Burke. The story revolves around two estranged sisters, Chloe and Nicky, who are forced to confront their past when a shocking crime brings them back together.
Chloe, the more successful and seemingly “better” sister, has built a picture-perfect life in New York, working as a high-powered editor and married to Adam, a prominent lawyer. She has also taken on the role of mother to her teenage stepson, Ethan. However, her world is shattered when Adam is brutally murdered in their home.
As the investigation unfolds, the prime suspect in the murder is none other than Ethan. Desperate to protect her son, Chloe reconnects with Nicky, her estranged sister and Ethan’s biological mother, who has had a troubled past.

The screenwriters of ‘The Better Sister’ are Olivia Milch (Ocean’s 8) and Regina Corrado (Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy), who are also showrunners and executive producers of the show.
